We will show you how to upcycle those dated old ties and turn them into purses, ipod holders, camera cases and wallets etc. Start off with a plain tie & make it more exciting by embellishing it or embroidering it. Learn how to make a gorgeous tunic dress: don't panic: no zips! This can be worn in loads of different ways, it can be smart or casual depending on your fabric, wear it loose or pull it in with a belt. This workshop is recommended for those that have basic experience of a sewing machine but dressmaking experience is not needed. This will be a lovely, relaxed workshop fueled with tea & cake! You'll need to bring along your own fabric but everything else is supplied. You'll even get to take your paper pattern home with you so you can make it again in a different fabric! You can also alter the length of the dress to suit you & even turn it into a top, we'll show you how! Maximum of 4 in this workshop so booking in advance is essential! Quick!

Come to our corsage workshop and make a handful of these gorgeous fabric flowers. Take it one step further by adding them to something else such as a scarf, headband, cushion, jacket or bag etc.  All materials for corsages supplied, bring along whatever you wish to stitch them onto or extra fabric for making something simple such as a scarf. You may choose between handstitching these or using the machine.

A lovely relaxed workshop for you to learn how to re-purpose beautiful napkins, tablecloths, vintage fabrics and even clothing into a beautiful, delicate 3 metre length of bunting. Use the bunting to decorate a bedroom, lounge or use it for a garden party. Materials will be supplied but please bring any pieces you wish to incorporate. Your bunting could be a little piece of history if you use fabrics with a story to them, eg Christening gowns or a doilly that granny crocheted.

Brilliant for beginners or even those with no experience. Learn how to use your sewing machine to create your very own fabric cushion. Bring along 1/2 metre of your chosen material and we will guide you step by step to make a cushion that can take pride of place on your sofa, chair or bed. We will even give you a paper pattern to take home so that you can make more & more... We have plenty of fabric & trimmings too, should you wish to use them on your cushion. 

Beginners: If you'd like some more machine confidence why not come to the workshop 1/2 hour early for a sewing machine lesson at a special price of only £6. 

Come along with your child to this great sewing workshop where you can work together to create a fantasy cape to use in hours of roleplay fun! Red Riding Hood, Harry Potter, a Vampire or a Wizard? Let us know what colour cape you'd like & we'll find you some fabric or bring along your own. Drinks & biscuits are supplied. Adults must accompany children.

Up-cycle, customise, revamp or Glamp? We'll supply the lampshade (dainty ones like in our pic) and the materials too. Lots of tea/coffee and inspiration as well as of course, the expert tuition and guidance needed to create your own unique lampshade design to suit your style. Feel free to bring your own lampshade and/or materials. Think outside the box: we can show you how to use more unusual materials such as bottletops, hair grips, coins etc.

You'll use fabric & other materials to make your creations & you can use as much as you can make during the workshop!  With a special price of £35 for both of you (usual price £20 each, not including cake!)

Learn how to use a straight stitch & a zig zag. Learn how to sew edges of fabric (to stop fraying) & learn how to sew corners ( very useful for making cushions & bags!) We will also teach you how to sew a plain closed seam & a basic hem, very useful for dressmaking, joining fabrics & turning up garments.  You will go home with a lovely fabric envelope pouch that you have made!

For this workshop we will use our wonderful ready prepared screens, we have 12 fantastic designs to choose from including a Vintage Bicycle, Bumblebee, Sewing Reel, Vintage Scissors, Seedheads, Plants, a Dragonfly, Birds, Bark, a Vintage Style Alphabet and some lovely textured background images. We will teach you how to mix the printing inks to achieve various shades (all colours available). You can then use the screens to build up a picture by layering or print a repeated pattern onto fabric or paper (we will have both available for you). Should you choose fabric we will give you approx 1/2 metre of light or dark which is enough to make a tote bag or a cushion. We will be holding tote bag and cushion workshops some weeks after this session so that you can book onto either and use your printed fabric to make a finished item! Otherwise you may wish to frame your work or create a teatowel.

This one will be making mini cushions! But not just any old cushions, your child will get a real sense of achievement with this one where they will make their own drawing into a cushion (or it can be used as a toy). Choose from drawing a house, monster, tree or a flower! Places are limited. 1st child is £15 and an accompanying adult is free, siblings can come along for a discounted price of £10. Adults must accompany children & we recommend that there is one adult to two children as they will need an adult's help.

We will even provide a cuppa for adults & squash & a biscuit for children : )

We've got some lovely wooden letters, big & small. For this relaxing workshop you can choose from our range of fabrics & papers to cover your letter in your preferred style. We also have lots of trimmings you can use too. Shall we put the kettle on?

Learn how to create your own unique lino stamps and then use them to add images and pattern to fabric or card. Lino printing is fun and is great for making personalised cards, teatowels, wrapping paper and stationery etc. Bring along any simple images or patterns that inspire you and we can work with these to help you create your stamps.

This craft is so much fun and the possibilities are endless. Bring along photos, images, drawings, interesting fabrics or papers and we can incorporate these into your designs. All materials supplied for this small workshop (only 5 places) You can work on a small or larger scale piece to frame, wear or to make into something else. If you have any handkerchiefs or scarves you'd like to work on then bring them along too. Stitch and embroider over your own drawings, printed fabrics or traced photographs, create line drawings in stitch or solid filled shapes/patterns. It's easy too! No experience necessary.

This is a lovely workshop where you can really get creative and craft a unique embellished collar for yourself to wear, to give as a gift or for display in a vintage frame. We will have a choice of decorative materials such as sequins, beads, buttons, fabrics and remnants etc. Please feel free to bring your own too, particularly if you would like certain colours as although we'll have a great selection, we can't guarantee we'll have the exact shade that will match that gorgeous dress you'll be wearing your collar with! We will have 2 shapes of collar to choose from, 1 is a ready made shirt collar, (as in the photo) the other can be made from felt to a shape of your choice.  Please let us know at the time of booking which you'd like to reserve.

Learn how to re-vamp an old lampshade by taking off the cover from an old one, making a paper pattern to ensure a good fit & then creating a new fabric cover for your lampshade. Choose from lovely trimmings to finish off your shade such as lace, tassles, ribbon or pom poms. We will supply the fabric, trimmings, tuition, equipment, tea & biscuits. All you have to do is bring an old lampshade but don't worry if you can't, we can supply you with one for an extra £5, just let us know in advance.

Bring the family to our special garland making workshop. This is a craft where everyone can get involved, whatever their age. Between you there'll be pom pom making, fabric cutting, hand sewing, embellishment, decoration and designing all to go toward crafting your own unique 'Family  Garland' for your home. Have fun  and get creative in our relaxed setting whilst enjoying a cuppa and a biscuit too! Be aware that the staircase is very steep and you should take care when using them, especially with children. You could easily make this skirt! Trust me! I'll take you through it step by step and by the time you've finished, you'll be so chuffed with yourself you'll want to make them again and again. Gorgeous for Summer, you can make yours to be shorter, longer or less gathered. Lightweight fabrics work best (we've used vintage silk) you could go for cotton or similar. You'll need to bring 2 metres of fabric with you, but you are welcome to choose from our new & vintage fabrics for an extra £7 per metre
